Why do muslims refuse to believe that we all are the children of God?

I am Muslim, and I believe that we are all God's created children. I am no better as a Muslim than another person is as a Christian or Jew or whatever, and I will never tell someone else that they're an unbeliever and are going to Hell and all this stuff that I hear far too often. God is the only one who can judge me or you or anyone else, so I just like to try and get along with everyone.
