I got called for a phone interview for a job that my sister's friend has. Is she getting fired?

I got a call for a job that the company is "proactively" starting to search for candidates. I found out it's my sister's friend's current job. There's only one position, it's with a small company and in a small town. I know it's her job. Does that mean she could be getting fired? My sister and I are estranged so I won't ask her, and to be honest her friend is a very crappy person in general. I know she's been let go from a few jobs in the past couple of years. It would be a really awkward position for me to be in if I got the job, even though I don't talk to my sister, if her friend found out I'm not sure how she's react.
